Student Engagement Bulletin
Digital & Print Collateral: February 2026 Student Bulletin
Role and Scope As the Communications Coordinator Intern for Dakota County Technical College, I spearheaded the creative development and tactical execution of campus-wide communication strategies. My primary objective was to drive student engagement and enhance brand awareness through consistent, high-impact digital and print collateral.
The Pivot to Monthly Bulletins In December 2025, I managed a strategic transition from weekly to monthly bulletins. This shift was designed to:
Strategic Evolution
- Optimize Strategy: Allow for more comprehensive long-term planning of digital marketing campaigns across college channels.
- Enhance Brand Presentation: Ensure rigorous attention to detail and brand consistency across all visual platforms.
- Improve Efficiency: Streamline the flow of information to faculty and staff while increasing the visual quality of the collateral.
Technical Execution
- Creative Mindset: I utilized Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to transform complex schedules into engaging visual content for the website and social media channels.
- Information Architecture: I maintained the college’s digital event calendar on the Trumba platform, ensuring 100% accuracy for all faculty and student events.
- Lead Generation: I integrated strategic QR codes and digital “call-to-actions” to bridge the gap between physical collateral and digital engagement.
Impact
This approach successfully supported college events and student engagement by providing a clear, professional, and accessible roadmap of campus life.
Digital & Print Collateral: Weekly Engagement Archives (2024–2025)
Project Overview Before transitioning to a monthly strategic format, I managed the end-to-end production of weekly campus bulletins. This phase of my internship focused on high-frequency content delivery, requiring rapid turnaround times and meticulous attention to detail to keep the student body informed of shifting campus events.
Strategic Execution & High-Volume Management
- Agile Deadline Management: Successfully executed a high-volume weekly publication schedule, ensuring 100% accuracy for time-sensitive campus updates and student engagement initiatives.
- Brand Consistency at Scale: Maintained rigorous adherence to Blue Knights brand standards across frequent iterations, ensuring “correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation” in every issue.
- Information Architecture: Managed the daily digital event calendar on the Trumba platform, translating real-time data into a scannable weekly layout for faculty and staff.
- Process Optimization: Utilized Canva to create reusable templates that reduced production time while maintaining high-impact visual quality.

Targeted Event & Club Promotions
Objective
Developed targeted promotional materials for various campus clubs to increase event attendance and brand awareness among specific student demographics.
Key Skills Demonstrated:
- Targeted Messaging: Tailoring visual styles to resonate with diverse student organizations.
- Brand Integration: Ensuring that while each flyer is unique, it still aligns with the overarching college brand identity.

Key Execution Points:
- Cross-Channel Consistency: Leveraged Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to adapt print collateral into mobile-optimized Facebook posts.

Developed a versatile rotation of Digital Signage (16:9) that balances “Action-Oriented” triggers (QR codes for immediate digital conversion) with “Passive Information” (Awareness slides for brand building). This omnichannel approach ensured that campus messaging reached students throughout their daily commute across the DCTC and Inver Hills campuses.
