Project Title: Official 2026 NJCAA Region XIII Softball Tournament Program

Client: Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) Athletics

  • The Challenge: Design a comprehensive print program for a high-profile regional tournament featuring six different collegiate teams.
  • The Solution: Developed a cohesive visual identity using DCTC’s “Blue Knights” and NJCAA’s branding, incorporating intricate tournament brackets, detailed team rosters, and sponsor recognition.

  • A two-page spread showing the front and back covers of the tournament program. The back cover includes host information for Dakota County Technical College and two QR codes for live updates. The front cover displays the tournament dates, April 30 - May 2, 2026, and action photography.
    Designed the official visual identity for the 2026 Region XIII Tournament. The layout integrates the host school (DCTC Blue Knights) with NJCAA national branding, featuring a custom “stitching” background motif to create a tactile, sports-centric feel.
  • A two-page spread featuring a detailed 9-game tournament bracket on the left and the Lake Region State College Royals team roster on the right. The layout uses a blue and white color scheme with a softball-stitch background pattern.
    A critical component of the program, this 2-page spread features a custom-designed 9-game double-elimination bracket alongside the first team roster. The goal was to maintain clean hierarchy and readability for fans tracking the tournament in real-time.
  • A two-page spread showcasing the Williston State College Tetons roster on the left and the host DCTC Blue Knights roster on the right. A Pepsi "Tournament Sponsor" advertisement is positioned prominently at the top of the right page.
    Managed complex data sets for six different collegiate teams. This spread also features the primary tournament sponsor placement, ensuring high-visibility alignment with the host team (DCTC) and the official tournament organization.
  • A two-page spread containing team rosters for Dawson Community College Lady Bucs and Miles Community College Pioneers. Each page maintains consistent typography and branding while featuring the respective team's logos and colors.
    Maintained a cohesive design system across all 8 pages of the program. By using a modular grid system, I ensured that varying roster lengths and team logos felt uniform and professional throughout the entire publication.
